The Sky's the Limit!

During May The Community Brain facilitated three trips to the top of the 21 story Tolworth Tower to allow residents, school groups and the community as a whole the opportunity to view Tolworth from a different perspective. From up high over 300 people saw our local area in a whole new light as well as stunning uninterrupted views across London to the North and deep into the Surrey Hills in the South.

Whilst visitors took in the spectacular sights we shared with them the core aims of SHEDx, some potential designs for our new Green Shed for feedback and most importantly gathered their thoughts on what they would do if they were the town planners of Tolworth.

The change of scene resulted in hundreds of creative, new and imaginative ideas as well as fascinating discussions around practical, long terms concerns and conflicts which exist in the area.

Local Resident Loz Archer shared a feeling felt by many, "Underfoot our town can feel like a rat race and concrete jungle, but with perspective it is anything but. From above we felt like town planners, as if playing Sims or Civilisation. And there’s no reason why we can’t be, if we get involved and get stuck in."

The Community Brain is currently working with our partners to collate all of the ideas, thoughts and suggestions in order to see which ambitions and hopes we may be able to progress through the SHEDx Project
